Wamiq (he/him) lives in Carrboro, NC where he is a member of NC Triangle DSA. He currently serves on DSA’s National Electoral Committee and Multiracial Organizing Committee. He has previously served on Triangle DSA’s chapter steering committee, on the steering committee of Triangle DSA’s Chapel Hill-Carrboro branch, as a chapter HGO, and as Chapel Hill-Carrboro Electoral Working Group co-chair. He was also elected as a chapter delegate to the 2019 and 2021 DSA National Conventions, serving as delegation chair in 2021. He served as campaign manager for Danny Nowell’s successful campaign for Carrboro Town Council, DSA’s first ever electoral win in North Carolina, and was heavily involved in the Bernie 2020 campaign in North Carolina.
